2 large slices of country bread or sourdough bread
1 burrata, about 125 g
4 thin slices of cured ham
1 small handful of redcurrants, raspberries or fresh red berries
2 fresh figs, optional depending on the season
A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil
A few fresh basil leaves or rocket leaves
Freshly ground black pepper
Optional: a few crushed walnuts or pistachios for crunch
Recipe method
Toast the bread. Toast the bread slices in a toaster, in the oven or in a pan with a light drizzle of olive oil. The bread should be golden and crisp on the outside while remaining slightly soft in the centre.
Add the fruity base. Spread each warm slice of bread with a thin layer of Pommery® Fig Mustard. The warmth of the toast helps release the fruity aromas of the mustard without overpowering the delicate burrata.
